Rancher Murray McGillivray uses a front-end loader to spread out a round bale of alfalfa feed for an older group of Angus-Gelbvieh cattle on the top of a knoll near their pasture, on his ranch located south of the Ceylon-Radville area. There about 130 head in this group of older cows, many of which will be calving in April. As a cattle producer, McGillivray said he is "cautiously optimistic" about the coming year for the cattle industry in Saskatchewan.
