The operating budget for the Sun Country Health Region will be presented during a special meeting.
Leadership at Sun Country Health Region will present a 2016-17 operating budget at a special meeting on Tuesday, July 19, at 1:30 p.m. in Tatagwa View. The budget is late this year due to the provincial election.
The audited financial statements from the 2015-16 fiscal year also will be presented at that time.
Members of Sun Country Regional Health Authority learned at its regular meeting that 22 concerns have been received from the public since April about care, emergency transportation, home care, mental health, support services and primary health services. Three concerns raised were about issues in other health regions or information from the Ministry of Health. All concerns have been dealt with by the Region’s Quality of Care Coordinator.
About 176 staff members attended the Sun Country’s Quality Symposium on May 26.
A Weyburn Special Care Home team received an award for improvement to Environmental Cleaning and the regular use of audits.
At that symposium, the annual Dave Galloway Award for quality was presented to the new long term care intake and placement team. Susan Viergutz and Leila McClarty were recognized for the work done in partnership with long term care, acute care, and home care to create a “live” process and ultimately streamline workloads, clarify roles, improve communication, and to reduce wait times for clients.
In the past couple of months, Dr. Al-Khafaji relocated from the Carlyle Medical Clinic to the Radville Marian Health Clinic, Dr. Helen Mbata joined the Weyburn Primary Health Clinic and will move to Radville in mid-August; and Dr. Remon Ghaly began practice in Arcola. Dr. Hamid Bimesl will join the Weyburn Primary Health Clinic in July.
