The Saskatchewan Health Authority has announced a temporary disruption to emergency and acute care services at the Arcola Health Centre, effective 7 p.m. on Jan. 15, until 8 a.m. on Jan. 30.
Due to active COVID-19 activity in the area and required realignment of health services to support patient care, emergency services will not be available at the facility during this time and there will be no acute care patient admissions.
Lab/x-ray services will not be affected by this disruption.
In the event of an emergency call 9-1-1 or visit the emergency department in Kipling, Redvers, Weyburn or Estevan. Non-urgent health related questions can be directed to the provincial HealthLine by calling 8-1-1.
Service disruptions due to COVID-19 can be found on the service alerts page of the Saskatchewan Health Authority website.
These actions are being taken to escalate the SHA’s response to recent COVID-19 case surges to enable the SHA to redeploy staff to critical services in order to meet rising COVID-19 demand and save lives.
With the recent surge in cases, the SHA is reminding the public that the primary factor in enabling the health system to meet the demand created by the COVID-19 virus is actions taken by Saskatchewan residents to stop the spread.
