There are three new cases of COVID-19 to report in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to Saskatchewan’s daily COVID report released June 2.
With four recoveries the number of active cases for Zone 4 dropped again and now stands at 43, one down from June 1.
There are seven new case in the South East. Two cases is located s in South East Zone 1, which is northwest of Zone 4, and two are in South East Zone 2, to the north of the corner.
There are 130 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 2, bringing the provincial total to 46,964 cases.
One new death is reported today in the 70-79 age group from the North West zone.
The new cases are located in the following zones:
Recoveries total 45,138 and 1,285 cases are considered active.
The other new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 8; North West, 13; North Central, 8; North East, 7; Saskatoon, 46; Central West, 1; Central East, 2; Regina, 22; South West, 2; and South Central, 12. Two new cases are pending residence information.
Another 116 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 45,138. Five of the new recoveries are from the South East.
There are 1,285 cases that are considered active, including 88 in the South East.
There are 103 people in hospital, with two in the South East. Eighty-one people are receiving inpatient care, two in the South East, and 22 are in an intensive care unit, one down from June 1.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 131 (10.7 per 100,000).
There were 2,798 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 1, including 114 from the South East.
As of June 1, 10,812 variants of concern have been identified by screening in Saskatchewan, with 1,077 in the South East.
An additional 9,299 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 740,251. Included in the total is 1,122 cases from the South East region.
Seventy-seven per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy-one per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose. Sixty-six per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while 63 per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
