Three new cases of COVID-19 in the southeast; 74 new cases in Saskatchewan

There are 74 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 1, bringing the total to 3,218 cases. Three of the new cases are in the southeast region. One of those cases is in Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

There are 74 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 1, bringing the total to 3,218 cases. 

Three of the new cases are in the southeast region. One of those cases is in Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

The other new cases are in Zone 3, which is to the west of Zone 4, and Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.

There are 33 active cases in the southeast; 24 of them are in Zone 4. Fifty-nine cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in the southeast since mid-March.

Twenty-five new cases are in the Saskatoon region, 19 are in the Regina region and 12 are in the north central. There are also five new cases in each of the far northwest and the northwest, two in the central east, and single cases are in the northeast and the southwest. One case has a pending residence location.  

Public health investigations are underway to determine the source of transmission for all new cases. Of the 3,218 reported cases, 798, or 24.8 per cent, are considered active. 

Fifteen more people have recovered, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 2,395 recoveries, or 74.4 per cent of those diagnosed.

Thirty-three people are in hospital. Twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care: 10 in the Saskatoon region, six each in the Regina region and the north central region, and two each in the northwest and northeast. Seven people are intensive care: four in Saskatoon, two in the north central and one in Regina.

Twenty-five people have died in Saskatchewan from COVID since mid-March.

A total of 2,750 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Saturday.
