The burned-out shell of a trailer was all that remained from a fire on Friday evening in the Weyburn Trailer Court. The occupant was not at home at the time the fire broke out, but a pet died in the fire. Fire Chief Simon Almond said the call came in around 6 p.m., and the main fire was out by 7:45, but crew members remained at the scene until about midnight. The cause was likely from an overturned electric space heater which the occupant was using to heat the trailer.
