Transfer Station No Fee Day and Appliance Pick Up Day a Success

            Carlyle Town Council held their regularly-scheduled meeting Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the Carlyle Civic Centre. Council's next meeting will take place at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Civic Centre.

 

            No Fee Day/Appliance Pick Up

            Council was pleased with the community's response to Carlyle's No Fee Day and Free Appliance Pick Up on Saturday, Oct. 21. Forty-three loads of refuse were taken to the transfer station free of charge and 50 appliances were picked up free of charge for disposal by council members Dean Hoffman and Brian Romaniuk, as well as members of the Town of Carlyle's Public Works staff.

            Education Property Tax

            Council was notified by the province that the education portion of property taxes will now be paid directly to the province's general revenue fund.
