CBC-TV host Rick Mercer braves the deep snow to pose beside the T.C. Douglas statue in Weyburn on Mar. 25, and he then sent the photo out via Twitter. Mercer was on his way through the city to go to Estevan to visit a school there as part of Mercer's Spreading the Net fundraiser. The bronze statue of the father of medicare, sculpted by Lea Vivot, was unveiled in September 2010 at its location beside the Souris River.
