The daily COVID-19 report for Saskatchewan released on Friday shows there are 81 new cases, but the number of recoveries outweighs the number of new cases.
There were 108 more recoveries in Saskatchewan on Friday.
Twelve of those recoveries are from the southeast region. Eight of those recoveries are from Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.
Four new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the southeast. All four cases are from Southeast Zone 1, which is to the northwest of Zone 4. Zone 1 has accounted for most of the cases in the southeast recently.
There are 54 active cases in the southeast. Ten are in Zone 4. Thirty-six are in Zone 1.
There have been 102 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in the southeast in the past eight months.
The 81 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan brings the provincial total to date to 4,513 cases.
Sixteen new cases are from the Regina region. As for the rest of the province, 11 are in the northeast, 10 are in the north central, eight are in the south central, seven are in the northwest, six are in each of the southwest and the far north central, five are in the Saskatoon region, four are in the central east, three are in the far northeast and one is in the far northwest.
Of the 4,513 reported cases, 1,427, or 31.6 per cent, are considered active.
With the 108 recoveries, the provincial total now stands at 3,057 recoveries, or 67.7 per cent of those diagnosed.
Fifty-three people are in hospital. Thirty-eight people are receiving inpatient care; one in the far northwest, one in the northwest, five in north central, five in the northeast, 20 in Saskatoon, two in Regina, one in the southwest and three in the southeast.
Fifteen people are in intensive care: one in the northwest, three in northcentral, eight in Saskatoon, two in central east and one in Regina.
Twenty-nine people have died from COVID-19 in Saskatchewan in the past eight months.
A total of 1,706 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan on Thursday.
