Two new cases of COVID-19 for Estevan’s South East Zone 4; 89 in the province

There are two new cases of COVID-19 to report for South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, on June 4. Zone 4 now has 39 active cases, which is up one from June 3. There are a total of five new cases in the South East region.

There are two new cases of COVID-19 to report for South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, on June 4.

There are a total of five new cases in the South East region. The other three new cases are in South East Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.

As for the provincial numbers, there are 89 new cases, 111 recoveries and no new deaths. The 89 new cases bring the provincial total to 47,186 cases.

The other new cases for Saskatchewan are located in the following regions: Far North West, 4; Far North East, 13; North West, 9; North Central, 6; North East, 2; Saskatoon, 20; Central West, 1; Central East, 5; Regina, 12; and South Central, 11.

Recoveries total 45,351. Three new recoveries are in the South East, including one in South East Zone 4.

A total of 1,292 cases are considered active, including 94 in the South East.

There are 101 people in hospital, including three in the South East who are receiving in-patient care. There are 80 people receiving in-patient care in Saskatchewan, and 21 who are intensive care. Two of the intensive care patients are out-of-province transfers from Manitoba.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 129 (10.5 per 100,000).

There were 2,599 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 3, including 120 from the South East.

An additional 15,633 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 770,463.

Included in that total were 1,185 doses in the South East, the most of any region outside of Saskatoon and Regina.

Seventy-seven per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose.  Seventy-two per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose.  Sixty-seven per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while 64 per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
