There are 76 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Oct. 30, bringing the total to 3,066 cases.

Two new cases are in the southeast region, but for the second straight day, neither of them are from Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan. One new case is from Zone 3, which is to the west of Zone 4, and the other is from Zone 1, which is to the northwest of Zone 4.

Thirty-one cases in the southeast region are considered active; 23 of the active cases are from Zone 4.

Fifty-six people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in southeast Saskatchewan since mid-March.

Thirty-four new cases are from the Saskatoon region and 19 are from the north central region. There are seven cases from the Regina region, four each from the northeast and central east, and two each from the far northwest, northwest and south central regions.

Public health investigations are underway to determine the source of transmission for all new cases. Initial investigations in Saskatoon and Prince Albert are finding that some new cases are linked to known cases and clusters, and some appear to be unknown community transmissions.

Of the 3,066 reported cases, 742, or 24.2 per cent, are considered active. Forty-one more people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,299, or about 75 per cent of those diagnosed.

Twenty-two people are in hospital. Sixteen people are receiving inpatient care: six in the Saskatoon region, four each in the Regina and north central regions, and one each in the far northwest and northwest regions. Six people are in intensive care – four in Saskatoon, and one each in north central and Regina.

A total of 2,190 COVID-19 tests were performed in Saskatchewan on Thursday.
