Two Saskatchewan residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died: one individual in their 60s from the far northwest and an individual in their 50s from the northeast. This brings the total number of deaths in the province to 27.
These are the first deaths related to COVID that have been reported since Oct. 11.
There are 116 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 7. One of the cases is from the southeast region.
The new case in the southeast is in Southeast Zone 1, which is the northwest corner of the region.
There are 30 active cases in the southeast region. Eighteen active cases are in Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.
Sixty-six people from the southeast have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since mid-March.
Thirty-nine cases are from the Regina region, 38 are from the Saskatoon region. There are also 10 from the north central, nine from the northwest, five from the northeast, four from the far northwest, three from the south central, two from each of the far northeast and central east, and single cases from the far north central and southwest.
The case in the far north central is the first for that region.
One new case has pending residence information.
Of the 3,738 reported cases, 985, or 26.4 per cent, are considered active. Thirty-nine people have recovered, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 2,726 recoveries, or about 73 per cent of those diagnosed.
Thirty-four people are in hospital. Twenty-six people are receiving inpatient care: one in the far northwest, two in the northwest, eight in northcentral, nine in the Saskatoon region and six in the Regina region.
Eight people are in intensive care: one in north central, five in Saskatoon and two in Regina.
A total of 2,908 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan on Friday.
