Two semis collide at Stoughton

Weyburn RCMP were on the scene of a collision involving two semi-tractor trailer units on May 15. The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway #13 and #47 near the community of Stoughton at 1:30 p.m.

Weyburn RCMP were on the scene of a collision involving two semi-tractor trailer units on May 15.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway #13 and #47 near the community of Stoughton at 1:30 p.m. The westbound semi, carrying 43 cubic metres of green peas was traveling from Manitoba, collided with a flat deck trailer that was crossing the intersection. The flat deck trailer ended up striking a light standard as well as a stop sign and then it jackknifed into the ditch. The semi carrying the peas ended up driving into the Northwest ditch into a marshy area.

The driver of the flatbed truck was taken to Weyburn hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The other driver was not injured.
