The Village of North Portal has received some assistance through a cross-border donation.
The N.D. Masonic Foundation has provided US$800 for a new shelter the village is planning to install at Maxwell Park in the next two years, funds permitting.
Portal, N.D., and North Portal have an international lodge.
The village has demolished the old shelter, which was passed its useful life.
The village is currently fundraising to build a new one.
