Voter turnout was “steady” on Monday morning, for Weyburn’s municipal election polls at the Cugnet Centre, as seen in the photos above.

The turnout was fairly heavy for the two advance polls, held at the Weyburn Leisure Centre in the Sun Room on Oct. 31 and Nov. 5, with over 500 voters on both occasions.

The municipal election polling stations will be open until 8 p.m., with all polls centralized at the Cugnet Centre.

This includes Weyburn city council, with three candidates for mayor, and 13 candidates for city council, with six council seats to be filled.

In addition, voting is open for the Weyburn trustees for Southeast Cornerstone School Division, with two trustees to be elected.

For those who haven’t voted yet, voters are to go to the far doors for the Cugnet Centre on the northwestern corner. Masks are required and hand sanitizing, and voters will then be directed once inside.
