Repairs to the Clarifier in Plant 200 at the City of Weyburn’s Water Treatment Plant are complete and the plant was producing water late Wednesday evening.
The Plant 200 clarifier  is operating extremely well as a result of the work that was done. Average water consumption during the shutdown was 4,150 litres per minute or just under six million litres per day.
“The City extends a huge thank you to all those that helped reduce our water consumption so we could properly manage the supply system and to those that worked over the weekend to help complete the repairs,” said city engineer Sean Abram.
Over the next week or so, the City will continue to assess the performance of the Plant 200 clarifier to ensure no other immediate repairs are required.
With continued good performance of Plant 200, the City is currently planning to shut down Plant 100 on Friday, June 10, to complete an inspection and conduct any necessary preventative maintenance required. Further updates will be provided as necessary.
