Born to Ben and Christa Taylor, a son on Jan. 23. He weighed eight pounds and nine ounces, and has been named Silas Benjamin. He is brother for Emery, Naomi and Lydia, a grandson for Garth and Lorraine Taylor and Dan and Joanne of Davidson and a great-grandson for Mary Walker of Saskatoon. He is the fourth grandchild for Garth and Lorraine Taylor in 49 months. Blessings multiplied by four.

Debbie Saville, who spent several weeks, including the Christmas holidays, with her daughter Victoria in Fort McMurray, has returned home.

Sympathy to Eric and Myrna Sorenson and family on the passing of Myrna's mother, Sharon Cameron of Weyburn. She passed away on Jan. 31 at the age of 88 years. There will be no service at this time. She leaves a family of Myrna (Eric) Sorenson, Paul (Maureen) Cameron, Keith Chadwich and Susan (Wayne) Buckle.

With a new partner comes new ideas. Tyler Brisbois is now a partner with Barb Dixon of the Wawota Hotel. They are offering a full menu, with food and drink specials every night of the week. The last Saturday of each month will feature Chinese food. Eat in or take out. It is so nice to see young people invest in our town.

Congratulations to Janet Thompson and Michael Drumm of Carlyle on the birth of their son on Jan. 29. He weighed seven pounds, two ounces, and has been named Charlie Michael. He is a brother to Kelsey (Drumm) Rekken, Aryn Drumm and Alexis, Ben, Sam, Emma, Abby and Owen Thompson. He is also a grandson for Bertha Drumm and Morley and Joan Hamilton!

Dionne Warner passed away in Regina on Feb. 1 at the age of 55 years old. She was a nine-time cancer survivor who encouraged and inspired so many throughout the province. She was the guest speaker at Wawota Relay for Life in June 2013. She was married to Graham Warner who is the son of Godfrey and Audrey (Pryce) Warner. What a wonderful example of living with positive determination and inspirational strength.

Wawota United Church held its annual meeting on Feb. 7. Reports from all committees and the budget for the new year were adopted. An online Time and Talent was planned for March. It will run from March 12-22. Watch for more details!
