            Animal calls

RCMP members of what Staff Sgt. Simons jokingly calls the “Bovine Removal Team” responded to two calls of cattle at large in the detachment area. In both cases, patrols were made, but the cattle were not located. “Often, the cattle find their way back via the same way they escaped,” says Simons, adding: “They find the grass isn't always greener on the other side.”

Simons. “If you're not wanted at the school, you can't go in. And certainly, don't go in and cause a disturbance. If you have any concerns, contact he school principal or the RCMP in advance and we will work to resolve the issue.”

            Fraud

“The (Canada Revenue Agency) fraud is back,” says Staff Sgt. Simons. “I would like to remind people that the CRA does not typically use the phone to approach citizens about matters, especially if the situation is serious. Even if you received correspondence, it's best to use caution: call the CRA and ensure you're using their proper phone number and never, never give out any personal or finanicial information – especially your social insurance number, your bank card number or any banking information or credit card numbers. If you have any concerns or questions, go directly to your bank or to the RCMP.”

            Harassment

The RCMP often deals with harassing phone calls and this week was no exception. “If you receive a phone call from someone you know and don't want to talk to, our first recommendation is to block them,” says Staff Sgt.
