            The Carlyle RCMP detachment responded to several calls to service from Thursday, Oct. 26 to Thursday, Nov. 2.

            911/False Alarms

            One 911 call was a hangup, while another was made in error.

            An alarm went off in error at a school within the detachment area.

            Alcohol-related Offences

            An incident regarding an impaired driver found unconscious in a vehicle in the Carlyle area is still under investigation by Carlyle RCMP.

            A motorist was charged with impaired driving, with a blood alcohol level excedding 0.08. As a result, this individual will appear in court. A first offence carries a fine of $1,000 and a one-year driving suspension.

            On Halloween weekend, Carlyle RCMP issued a $360 fine to individual who had open liquor in a vehicle. Members also issued two warnings to minors regarding alcohol. Police remind the public that the legal drinking age in Saskatchewan is 19 years of age.

            Assault

            The report of an assault which allegedly occurred in the Carlyle area was deemed to be unfounded by RCMP.

            Assistance

            Members of the Carlyle RCMP detachment provided assistance to SERM (Saskatchewan Environment Resource Management) regarding individuals hunting illegally in the Carlyle area.

            Members dealt with a property dispute in the detachment area.

            An incident regarding a rental agreement is under investigation by Carlyle RCMP.

            Police provided traffic assistance in response to a request from a farmer in the Arcola area who was moving cattle.

            At the request of various communities and schools in the detachment area, members will attend local Remembrance Day services in an official capacity.

            A Saskatchewan Roughrider clock found in a yard in the Carlyle area was returned to its owner.

            Breach of Peace

            Members responded to a breach of peace call in Arcola.

            Disturbing the Peace

            Incidents of disturbing the peace and causing a disturbance reported within the Carlyle area remain unsolved.

            Criminal Harassment

            RCMP are currently conducting an investigation regarding criminal harassment.

            An allegation of criminal harassment was proven to be unfounded by police.

            Curfew Checks

            This week, members conducted several curfew checks within the detachment area with regards to individuals who are currently released on conditions.

            Firearms

            An individual turned their firearms in to the Carlyle RCMP detachment so the weapons could be destroyed. “If you want to bring your firearms in so we can legally dispose of them, please call the detachment in advance,” says Cst. Joanne Franklin of the Carlyle RCMP detachment.

            Fraud

            The Carlyle RCMP detachment received two separate reports regarding credit card fraud. For more information regarding this crime, contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at www.antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca.

            An attempted fraud in which an individual claimed to be from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is still under investigation by Carlyle RCMP.

            Mischief

            An intoxicated male who was unwanted in an area residence was lodged in cells until sober.

            RCMP received a report regarding a residence in the detachment area that was covered with toilet paper on Halloween night.

            Libel

            Members of the Carlyle RCMP detachment are currently investigating an case of defamatory libel in the detachment area.

            Mental Health Act

            RCMP members responded to a call under the Mental Health Act.

            Traffic Offences/Collisions

            “With the onset of winter weather, the RCMP reminds motorists to slow down for road conditions and to adjust driving speed for icy conditions,” says Cst. Michael Pike of the Carlyle RCMP detachment. “After all, the posted speed limit is no good if you can't stop. Speed limits that are posted pertain to ideal weather and driving conditions, so please adjust your driving speed to conditions.”

            Members issued fines to individuals who were not wearing seatbelts. The fine for this offence is $175.

            Police continue to encounter drivers using cell phones while driving and this week was no exception. RCMP wish to remind motorists not to use electronic devices while driving. The fine for this offence is $280.

            RCMP have issued several fines for uninsured trailers. Police would like to remind the public that trailers of any kind must be licensed and insured.

            In Carlyle, a reported hit and run in which a vehicle was damaged remains unsolved.

            RCMP dealt with several motorists who were driving vehicles without registration. The fine for this offence is $580.

            Police responded to a call reporting an erratic driver on Hwy 9, but were unable to locate this individual.

            Members issued several speeding tickets this week, with fines reaching $188.

            On Halloween night, members issued a fine to a motorist who failed to stop at a posted stop sign. Several other offences of this type occurred during this week. This fine for this offence is $580.

            Police issued several inspection tickets during this period -  for inadequate headlights, damaged windshields and tinted windows, insecure cargo, and more.

            Well-being Check

            Members conducted a well-being check on an individual in the detachment area at the request of the person's family.
