The Weyburn Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a one day seminar to enhance understanding of the petroleum industry on February 25 at the Weyburn Travelodge from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Facilitator Matt Cugnet will introduce participants to the basics of the petroleum industry and the concepts of oil and gas exploration, production, transportation and marketing.
Seminar participants will gather an understanding of the basic steps, technology, and people involved in getting petroleum resources from the ground to the consumer.
They will examine the petroleum industry and its connection to regional issues and economics, explore how the industry affects all Canadians, as well as the roles of various organizations working in the oil industry.
They will also recognize the importance of support services to the sustainability of the industry in the region.
