Weyburn Police Services is investigating a June 29 report of a suspicious male who approached a 22-year-old female driver offering money for sex.
On June 28, police responded to a local pub to investigate the report of a female having been assaulted. The matter is still under investigation.
Police were called to a local hotel to deal with a report of an intoxicated male who was planning on driving. The matter was mediated at the time however, at approximately 2:15 p.m. on June 28, police were called back because the person was causing more problems. As a result a 38-year-old male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and was lodged in cells until sober.
Police responded to a complaint of a domestic assault on June 28 involving a 68-year-old female victim and a 62-year-old male suspect. The matter was mediated.
A small amount of cash and jewelry were taken from a residence on June 27. Police are investigating the theft.
As a result of a complaint on June 27, police attended to the dirt trails in the Signal Hill area where a stuck vehicle was located. As a result a 23-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving. The subject also had an outstanding warrant and will appear in court.
A local 24-hour convenience store was the location of an armed robbery on June 27. About 3:40 a.m. a male suspect armed with a knife entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect was wearing dark clothing with a hood and mask. He is described as; six feet tall, 20-25 years old, skinny, wearing a dark blue hoodie, white/grey gloves and carrying a black backpack.
Weyburn police responded to a report of a vehicle collision at 11th Street and East Avenue on June 25. There were no injuries but both vehicles were not driveable. A 30-year-old female was issued a ticket for leaving the stop sign before safe.
A local business was the victim of a significant daytime theft of merchandise. The business owner was able to follow the suspects in his vehicle until the police could apprehend them. A 28-year-old male and a 23-year-old female both from Estevan are facing theft charges and will be making a court appearance on July 8.
In the early morning hours of June 24 police received numerous complaints of mischief done to yards and property in the McGillivray Drive, 700 Block of 18th Street, and Slezak Crescent areas. Despite vehicle and foot patrols the responsible people could not be located. A total of 11 complaints were received. Homeowners seeing the group described them as being 3-4 youth in the 13-15 year old range.
Police attended the scene of a two vehicle collision in the 100 Block of 18th Street on June 24. There were no injuries but one vehicle had to be towed. No charges were laid and the matter was referred to SGI for a determination of fault.
Police received two citizen complaints of erratic and dangerous driving on June 24. As the result of the investigation a 17-year-old male was issued two traffic tickets.
Police received a report of a stolen travel trailer on June 23. The vehicle had been stored at a compound on East Avenue over the winter. Missing is a 2009 Fleetwood Prowler bumper-hitch trailer.
