Andria Brady, Executive Director of the Weyburn Wor-Kin Shop Corp., shared great news with all those in attendance at the Wor-Kin Shop's recent Annual General Meeting.
"It gives me great pleasure to announce that we recently received two generous donations - one for $50,000 and another for $100,000. Both of these were made with the condition that they remain anonymous - they do not want the recognition but simply want to see our project move forward," she said. "It was expressed to me that there are people who have been fortunate to see success in doing something they enjoy, and being able to share that success with our most vulnerable citizens in turn gives them satisfaction."
"I am also pleased to announce that these donations have brought us close enough to our fundraising goal of $500,000 that we have received the approval to proceed with construction of our new Day Program building!"
"We have received confirmation that the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation has made a commitment of funding," she added, "the amount to be determined once final budget details are available."
The Wor-Kin Shop is still working towards the goal of breaking ground later on this fall and will release more details in the coming weeks as plans are finalized.
