Pangman – The voting is done at the Deep South Personal Care home on the Christmas decorated residents doors and Edna Morrison took first place with the Nice list, second place went to Effie Devine with her naughty list and Ruby Gosling came in third place with the Grinch. Teacher Wendy Johnson and the Grade 4-6 classes went to the home and sang Christmas carols from outside to the residents before the Christmas holidays.
Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Pangman Dance club, the Pangman Community calendars will not be distributed this year. Linmark Publishing sent an email stating their doors would be closing December 31st. The club was under the impression their order would be completed. After many attempts to make contact and no reply the club came to the conclusion they closed their doors immediately and have not filled the order.
The club will be refunding any payments they have received. They are currently speaking with another community calendar company but would like the community feedback whether to start in April 2021 or hold off until January 2022.
Some of the residents of the Deep South Personal Care home participated in the bowling tournament on Dec. 28, with Ruby Gosling taking first place with her score of 99 points. Joyce Hval brought in second place with her score of 91 points and Betty Hildebaugh came in third with 87 points.
A curling tournament was held on Dec. 29, and coming in first place was Evelyn Froh with her score of 30 points. Sheila and Ruby Gosling tied for second place with their score each of 26 points and Joyce Hval brought in third place with her score of 25 points.
Word was received on Dec. 17 of the passing of Catherine Marie (Bassman) Pitre, age 69, of Dundurn. Cathy grew up in the Khedive area. A memorial service will be held in Pangman during the summer.
