YORKTON - A Yorkton native is performing live to celebrate two decades of being a professional musician.

Mitch Lysak is celebrating 20 years of professionally writing music with a return to the stage at Rally Round the Mill beer gardens on August 7th.

Lysak has been lead singer and songwriter of the acoustic rock group Volcanoless in Canada, of which have released two full-length albums.

This summer's performance is described as a more laid-back alternative-country style, with songwriting geared towards the challenges, successes, faults, and pride of pioneer settlement, including acknowledging Canada's current climate of ownership and reconciliation of our history with our First Nations people.

"I am looking to have fun, try some new songs and new styles. It is an honour to come from and be raised in Yorkton. I think the restoration of the Mill and site is interesting and inspiring to new generations and new cultures. I am excited to come join the fun and all of the unique activities happening this day. I would be there to check it out even if I wasn't playing."

Those in attendance can expect something different from the raucous full-on sound of a full Volcanoless-band, but with marking the 20th anniversary of the band's origin, with some old classics from the band sure to be played.

The show will also feature performances from up and comer Katie Morgan, and many more.
