It has been a busy few weeks of hockey for our team. The Carlyle Cougars travelled to Carievale on Jan. 13. The Cougars took control early in the game and continued to play strong the entire game. I didn't get the score sheet from this game, but we got the W. Great job to the Cougars for their excellent passing plays!
On Jan. 17 Whitewood was in town to play. We exchanged points back and forth the entire game. The clock ran out before we could match their point and they ended up beating us 13-12. Goals were scored Chase Robertson, Kale Ardnt, Jaden Fischer, Chase Himmelspach and Trystan Kresowaty.
Minor Hockey Day on Jan. 19 saw the two Carlyle teams face off. With a short bench and 3 missing players, we tried our best, but fell behind early in the game. Both teams skated hard and had a blast playing against their friends. Nothing like some friendly competition! Goals were scored by Kale, Trystan K. and Grady Benjamin.
On Jan. 20, the Cougars braved the cold day to take on Arcola. This very determined team started out strong and beat the opposition 19-7. Goals were scored by Kale, Chase R., Trystan K., Samantha Colpitts, and Grady. Also a special mention to Tristan Dixon for a hat trick, and those 3 goals were all in a row! The kids were all excited for him, especially when Coach Wade threw his hat on the ice!! Good job Cougars!
We headed to Whitewood for our first tournament of the season on Jan. 27. Our first game saw us taking on Whitewood. The Cougars dominated the game and had some great saves in net. We won the game 13-5. Goals scorers were Chase R., Kale, Jaden, Trystan K., and Dawson Galbraith. Our second game was against Wapella and the Cougars easily won that game as well. I missed getting the score sheet for this game, but almost all of the Cougars scored a goal that game.

On Jan. 27, we took to the road again and were in Carievale. The Cougars skated strong and beat the Storm. We made some really great passing plays and awesome saves in net. The team worked really hard and ensured that every player got a goal that game. Way to go Cougars, that is amazing teamwork!! Goals were scored by Kale, Grady, Sam, Chase R., Trystan K., Jaden, Tristan D., and Kyra Kresowaty. Great game Cougars!
Our next home game is Feb. 2 against the Wawota Flyers at 9 a.m. Come out and support these young players. See you at the rink!
