The Estevan Bruins have the winners for their Certified Energy Services Chase the Ace 50-50 progressive jackpot.

Todd Brandow pulled the ace of spades Saturday night at the Beef Bar. Brandow was there on behalf of a group of five employees (A/B pumpmen) from Westmoreland Mining in Estevan. They will split the jackpot of $33,500.

He pulled the ace with 27 cards remaining.

The Bruins have been running the Chase the Ace draw since January. Each week team supporters would purchase tickets, and have the chance to pull the ace of spades from a deck of cards. If they did, they won the jackpot. If they didn’t, they won the weekly prize, the card they pulled was discarded and the cumulative jackpot kept growing.

Nobody pulled the ace of spades until Saturday night in the 18-week fundraiser.

The Bruins announced earlier this month that Saturday’s draw would be the last for the Chase the Ace, as they sold out of tickets. The last of the tickets were purchased in the middle of this week.

Wayne Evenson’s name was drawn first Saturday night and he won the weekly jackpot for $3,761. But the ace of spades wasn’t drawn, so the Bruins kept drawing names and pulling cards from the deck - including a couple of aces - until Brandow pulled the elusive ace of spades.
