Graham DeLaet tied 21st at the Memorial Tournament, earning $58,202 during the week while competing in the Professional Golf Association Tour.
After competing in 16 events so far this season, DeLaet said that he was feeling great physically and mentally. "I'm feeling really good about my game heading into the summer."
"Really looking forward to the next few months and to challenging for my first PGA Tour."
DeLaet has earned $933,587 after 16 events, and is currently ranked 45th in the FedExCup.
He truly enjoys being out on the course, and has a hard time picking a favourite tournament.
"It's tough to choose a favourite tournament because there are so many great events on our schedule. But I would have to say the Players Championship is one of my favourites because it's just such an amazing field and the PGA Tour puts on a great event," said DeLaet.
Before the Memorial tournament, DeLaet had competed at the Crown Plaza Invitational, where he had competed for the lead during the first three rounds. "As far as having the lead, I enjoyed being in that position," said DeLaet. "It was the most fun I've had all year."
"I didn't feel any added pressure, however I wasn't able to continue playing well enough to stay in the lead."
DeLaet started the Memorial tournament with his best round, scoring a 70, two-under-par. During the back nine, he shot birdies on holes 12, 14 and 17, with a bogey on hole 18. Then during the front nine, DeLaet hit back-to-back birdies on holes five and six, but then shot a double bogey on hole nine.
During the front nine of the second round, DeLaet hit birdies on holes one and two, but then went back to par score after hitting back-to-back bogeys on holes eight and nine. DeLaet was able to shot two more birdies, back-to-back on holes 10 and 11, but then went back to par again after hitting a double bogey on hole 12. He stayed on par for the rest of the round, with a birdie on hole 15 and a bogey on hole 16.
DeLaet's score for round two was at par 72. With an overall score of two-under-par, he was well above the cut line after two rounds, set at three-over-par.
There were a few challenges for DeLaet during the third round. He started on par for the first three holes of the front nine, but then scored a bogey on hole four, and balanced his score with a birdie on hole five. After hitting two more pars, DeLaet double-bogeyed on hole eight.
He followed this by hitting back-to-back bogeys on holes 10 and 11. Fortunately, DeLaet was able to turn things around slightly, hitting birdies on holes 12, 14 and 15. He added one more bogey on hole 17, for a total score of 74, two-over-par.
During round four, DeLaet started the front nine with a birdie on hole one, then stayed one par for the remainder of the front nine. During the back nine, he hit a birdie on hole 11 and a bogey on hole 12, then stayed on par for the rest of the round. His score was 71, one-under-par.
DeLaet isn't on the field for the next tournament, which is the FedExCup St. Jude Classic. He also Tweeted "For those asking, I withdrew from US Open qualifying. Been a long stretch on the road. Two weeks off at home will be amazing."
Many of Graham's Twitter followers supported his decision to not compete in the US Open. A few noted that they had really wanted to see him compete during the prestigious event.
This means the next tournament for DeLaet will be the Travelers championship, which will be held June 20 to 23.
