Starting on the front nine for round one, DeLaet immediately birdied hole one. He shot a bogey on hole four, a birdie on hole seven and a bogey on hole eight. For the back nine, he shot bogeys on hole 12 and 14, then a birdie on hole 16. DeLaet finished the round at 71, one-over-par.
For round two, DeLaet started on the back nine and stayed mostly on par, until shooting a bogey on hole 17. For the front nine, he shot a birdie on holes one, seven and eight. He finished the day at 68, two-under-par.
After two rounds, DeLaet was at one-under-par, and easily met the cut which was set at two-over-par. The other Canadians at the HP Byron Nelson, Matt McQuillan, Stephen Ames and Mike Weir didn't make the cut.
For the third round, DeLaet started on the front nine and shot bogeys on hole two, three and six, but also had birdies on hole five and nine. During the back nine, he had back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11 and finished the round at 69, one-under-par.
Finally, for the fourth round, DeLaet started on the front nine and stayed mostly on par, except for a bogey taken on hole six. Then during the back nine, he shot bogeys on holes 12, 16 and 18, with only one birdie on hole 17. DeLaet finished the round at 73, three-over-par.
DeLaet had a successful rookie year on the PGA Tour in 2010. After taking a medical excemption for a herniated disc in 2011, DeLaet has 26 starts left this year to win $657,694 to keep his PGA card for 2013. So far he has had 14 starts and has made $526,902.
From those 14 events, DeLaet has made the cut 10 times. He has made two top 25 finishes and two top 10 finishes. He has 302 points in the FedExCup standings and is 89th on the money leader list.
According to the Official World Golf Ranking, DeLaet is the second-ranked Canadian. David Hearn is the top ranking Canadian golf on the list.
The next event for DeLaet will be the Travelers Championship, which will run from June 21 to 24. This will give DeLaet nearly a month to rest, and relax at his home between tournaments.
DeLaet will be returning to Weyburn on Tuesday, July 10 for the Grimes Sales and Service presents the Graham DeLaet charity golf tournament for the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the building fund towards the future construction of a new hospital to serve the needs of Weyburn and surrounding area.
