The Weyburn Comp Eagles football team have advanced to the semi-finals of the Moose Jaw High School Football League.

The Eagles defeated the Estevan Elecs 51-0 in the quarter final on Saturday. "We really challenged the defense before the game to shut Estevan out," said Darren Abel, head coach of the Eagles football team.

The Williams brothers combined for five touchdowns during the game. Reese had a punt return, a rushing touchdown and ran a successful touchdown after a fake punt play. Rhett also had a punt return and a rushing touchdown. Other point scorers for the Eagles were Quinton Ruckaber with a 75-yard touchdown and Kirk Winter with a touchdown.

"We sent in our younger players during the second half and they did a heck of a job," said Abel. "At the end of the game, we had some bantam call-ups on the field. Estevan managed to push to the one-yard line, but our guys kept them from pushing the ball over the goal line."
The Eagles will face the Yorkton Raiders on Saturday, Oct. 26 in Yorkton. Yorkton finished the season in second place.

"I hope we have a better effort against Yorkton because the last time we didn't play very well," said Abel. "We had our opportunities and we need to execute them better in this game."
"They are bigger than us, but we should still be able to stick it to them in the game," said Abel.

In the other semi-final match, the undefeated Moose Jaw Peacock Tornadoes will play the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones, who finished in fourth place.
