The Weyburn Gold Wings got off to a rough start in the Morden tournament over the weekend dropping their first game 7-1 to Pembina.

"The first game was rough," said coach Chad Kish. "We just couldn't score."

The second game was a 2-2 decision against Lloydminster. Coming off the tie against Lloydminster, the girls lost 1-0 to Regina.

"We were pretty even against Regina," said Kish, adding the girls played well but weren't able to find the net.

Their third game was a 3-2 win over Melville.

Kish said the Gold Wings are playing well defensively, however they need to become a goal scoring team, and need to work on their offence.

Next action for the Gold Wings is this weekend against the North Battleford Sharks.
