Against the Prince Albert Bears, Head Coach Chad Kish said the girls didn't start off well but eventually got their bearings.
"We didn't play as well as we should have at the beginning of the series. Our team is deeper than theirs. We out worked them, we were scoring on the power play and we got to the goalie," Kish said.
The Southern Range Gold Wings move on to the final against the Regina Rebels with their first game Saturday, March 22 in Regina.
The Rebels finished the regular season in first place with 75 points.
Kish is expecting the Rebels to be a bit of a challenge.
"They have one really good line. If we can shut them down, we're going to be in good shape," said Kish. "I'm pretty excited. This is going to be good for us."
Game 2 will take place at Crescent Point Place on Tuesday, March 25. Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
