It has been 197 days since the Estevan Bruins played their last meaningful game, and tonight they finally get back at it.

The Bruins and the Melville Millionaires will uphold a long-standing tradition of opening the season against one another, with a home-and-home series. It starts tonight at the Horizon Credit Union Centre in Melville, and resumes with the Bruins' home opener tomorrow night at Spectra Place.

There are quite a few things to get to today. I've neglected the blog this week with being busy at work and planning the next episode of Bruin Banter TV (the pilot episode, if you somehow still haven't seen it yet, is available here. Episode 2 will be up tomorrow and it will be awesome.)

First off, Connor Milligan has been named the captain of the Bruins. The news came through a tweet from Milligan's roommate, rookie defenceman David Robertson, last night:
