Minor Hockey awards night

League finalists, awards recipients are recognized



The Weyburn Minor Hockey Association had their annual awards night on Apr. 22.

Several Weyburn teams were recognized for making the finals of their leagues, including the midget AA Drillers, the peewee CP Wings, the peewee Kin Canucks, the peewee Youngfellows and the atom AA Panther Drilling Wings.

Official awards were won by Dawson Switzer as the top senior official, Dexter Happ as the top junior official, Bailee Bourassa as the top female official and Arthur Mitchell as the top first year official. Other awards were presented to Pete Anderson, coaching award; and Carol Leslie, special recognition.

At the midget girls level, the following awards were presented to midget AA Drillers: Paige Wiles won the most valuable player, Karlee Jensen won the most dedicated, Emma Anderson won the most improved and Chelsey Schiller won most sportsmanlike player.

Awards for the TS&M Oilers were won by Darby Shindelka, most dedicated; Shayla Fisher, most improved and Jami Kwochka, most sportsmanlike.

At the bantam girls level, the McDonalds Angels presented most dedicated to Jordyn Trask, most improved to Olivia Young and most sportsmanlike to Laryssa Hoffman. The Olympia Fitness Athletes presented most dedicated to Brooklyn Lund and Kirsten Perras, most improved to Jasmine Lund and most sportsmanlike to Beth Ann Goudy.

At the peewee girls level, the awards for the Youngfellow Rockets were Morgann Rogal, most dedicated; Taryn McKinney, most improved and Hayley Fellner, most sportsmanlike.

Awards at the atom girls level for the DQ Blizzards was Kate Goranson, most dedicated; Madison Lafoy, most improved; and Jordyn Jarvis, most sportsmanlike. For the Walmart Stars, Aaliyah McLean and Hayley Pompu won most dedicated, Dalis Prawdzik won most improved and Kira Barham received the most sportsmanlike award.

At the midget boys level, the following awards were presented to Midget Tier One Wings: Tucker Neuberger won most valuable player, Kolten Cleasby won most dedicated, Kyle Mryglod received most improved and Cody Robertson won the most sportsmanlike.

The Q'Max Wild trophies were won by Terrence Miller and Steven Speers for most dedicated; Justin Dreis and Chase Ryan for most improved; and Konrad Proszak and Troy Brock for most sportsmanlike.

The Silverado Wings awards went to Chantz Vinck for most dedicated, Brendan Fisher for most improved and Kyle Bartlett for most sportsmanlike.

At the bantam boys level, the Bantam Tier One Wings presented most valuable to Blake Dempsey, most dedicated to Austin Neiszner, most improved to Conor LaFoy and most sportsmanlike to Tristyn Deroose. The JHC Hitmen awards went to Miles Lund for most dedicated, Kyle Martin for most improved and Jake Roettger for most sportsmanlike. The Sonics presented trophies to Colten Glennie for most dedicated, Hunter Dugan for most improved and Justin Bennett for most sportsmanlike.

At the peewee boys level, the awards for the Peewee Tier One Wings were given to Jaxon Robertson for most valuable, Kade Eger for most dedicated, Ty Stadnick for most improved and Rhett Frey for most sportsmanlike.

The CP Wings presented awards to Riley Croal and Todd Johnson for most dedicated; Cooper Kopec for most improved and Owen Hiltz for most sportsmanlike. Trophies from the Legion went to Joel Niemegeers for most dedicated, Brayden Gerry for most improved and Spencer Ordahl for most sportsmanlike.

Awards from the Canucks were given to Matthew Daunheimer for most dedicated, Cam Sutherland for most improved and Lincoln Alexander for most sportsmanlike.

Several teams awarded trophies at the atom boys levels. For the Panter Drilling Wings, Ethan Ernst won most dedicated, Jonah Regier won most improved and Trey Sandiford won most sportsmanlike. For the A&W Athletics, Kale Williamson won most dedicated, Keagan Sanheim won most improved and Colby Sorenson won most sportsmanlike.

From the WIT Wings most dedicated was won by Austin Pederson and Dylan Mitchell; most improved was won by Carter Brown and Josh Brown; and most sportsmanlike was won by Reid Glennie and Erik Barsness. From the Atomic Black, most dedicated was Hudson Neuberger, most improved was Kade Hala and most sportsmanlike was Caleb Gill and Russ Shumlich.

Several teams awarded trophies at the novice boys level. For the Dodge Caravan Wings, Dylan Ernst won most dedicated, Jack Bobier was most improved and Katelyn Thackeray was most sportsmanlike. For the Lions, Tensei Iida was most dedicated, Luke Eagles won most improved and Wyatt Ebel was most sportsmanlike.

From the Rotary Sharks, Karston Geiger and Aiden Field won most dedicated, Cale Mohan won most improved and Ben Manning won most sportsmanlike. From the Aldon Oilers, Cooper Walbaum won most dedicated, Presleigh Runge and Brodie Sabourin won most improved and Kara Zelyck won most sportsmanlike.

From the East Wey Wings, Ty Boren won most dedicated, Virginia Harazny won most improved and Tiki Zeus Umbach won most sportsmanlike. From the Dodge Caravan Whalers, most dedicated was won by John Vogel and Seth Deis, most improved was won by Caden Schurko and Evan Lund and most sportsmanlike was won by Kent Shumlich and Braden Hall.

From the Dodge Caravan Penguins, most dedicated was won by Samuel Borschowa and Sutter Balog, most improved was won by Quinlan Buckingham and Matthew Moerike and most sportsmanlike was won by Lindsay VanDeWeyer.

From the Dodge Caravan Kings, Shelby Williams won most dedicated, Patrick Keating won most improved and Jaxon Cook won the most sportsmanlike.

Several teams from the initiation boys level also awarded their players. From the Credit Union Fat Cats, Rori Dickie won most dedicated, Ryder Zackrisson won most improved and Nolan Zelyck won most sportsmanlike. The Leafs awarded Justin Whitrow and Owen Istace for most dedicated, Braxton Stinson for most improved and Carson Palmer for most sportsmanlike.

From the Great Plains Ford Mustangs, most dedicated went to Josh Wiens and Shawn Odland, most improved went to Aiden Aasland-Guest and most sportsmanlike went to Liam Maloney. From the Andrew Agencies Miles Mites the most dedicated went to Sam Mallory, most improved went to Taya Schmidt and most sportsmanlike went to Brasen Sim.

The Weimer Wildcats awarded Conner Kerr for most dedicated, Brennan Anderson and Justin Deis won most improved and Rayna Hennie won most sportsmanlike.

From the Sparkle Carwash Buffalos, most dedicated went to Ryder Fellner, most improved is Addison Greve and Vlad Szczecinski and most sportsmanlike was Josee Hutt. For the Oilmen, Carter Gervais won most dedicated, Sawyer Leko won most improved and most sportsmanlike was Nathan Peterson and Chance Kradovill.
