More than 60 golfers enter parent-child tourney at Woodlawn

Winners were decided in six different age groups.

ESTEVAN - The 39th annual Parent-Child Tournament was held at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course on Sept. 11 on a hot, sunny and calm day.

Thirty-tree teams entered the competition. Each team had an adult paired with a youth.

This tournament uses the Rondeau scoring system, which has a handicap based on age. All the juniors received a trophy and a meal thanks to the tournament’s generous sponsors.

Three-year-old Charlotte Hoffort finished first in the Mother-Daughter Junior Division with a score of 55. Second place went to Addison Cote with a 59, while Ryley Istace shot a 62 to claim third place.

The Mother-Son Junior Division winner was Lucca Willerth with a score of 63.

Four-year-old Lila Donovan finished first in the Father-Daughter Junior Division with a score of 38, while Harper Bakke finished second with 46. Third place, also with a 46, was Halle Stepp.

The final junior division was the Father-Son Division, which continues to have the most entries with 14 this year. First place was claimed by Sutter Hoium with a score of 38. Second place went to Brooks Cote, who shot 40, while Jackson Ward also shot 40 to finish third.

Emma Spencer won the Father-Daughter Senior Division with a score of 41. Finishing second with a 42 was Mykenna Driedger, while Cammy Henry was third with a 47.

The Mother-Daughter Senior Division was won by Malina Stead, who shot a 49.

All of the golfers were treated to hot dogs, hamburgers, salads and a drink thanks to the support of the sponsors.
