A number of athletes represented Weyburn in the SHSAA Provincial Track and Field Championships held on June 7 and 8 in Moose Jaw.
In the Midget Girls 3000-meter run, Lacey Happ from the Weyburn Junior High placed 11th.
Sabrina Mainil from the Weyburn Comprehensive School placed third in the Junior Girls 200-meter dash and she took fourth place in the Junior Girls Long Jump competition.
WCS's Brooke Erickson placed 24th in the Junior Girls 800-meter run and Fallon Gaab placed 19th in the Junior Girls 3000-meter run.
WCS's Joanne Stewart placed 12th in the Senior Girls 800-meter run as well as in the Senior Girls 3000-meter run. Marissa Pirlot placed 19th in the Senior Girls long jump class as well as taking second place in the Senior Girls javelin throw.
In the Midget Boys 800-meter run, Nicholas Cuthbert of WJH placed 10th. Cuthbert placed 15th in the Midget Boys 3000-meter run.
Scott Jones of the WJH placed 24th in the Midget Boys discus throw competition.
Alexander Asare of WCS placed 12th in the Senior Boys 200-meter dash competition.
Ben Rumpel of WCS placed third in the Senior Boys high jump and 12th in the Senior Boys triple jump competition. Nick Hillstead of WCS placed 18th in the Senior Boys discus throw competition.
