If there's one bright side to the Weyburn Red Wings misfortunes over the past weekend road swing to the north, is that they have learned to curb their urge to visit the penalty box.
Weyburn took it on the chin with three losses in three nights last weekend as they dropped a 5-1 loss to Kindersley, October 14, where Wings' netminder Nicholas Clark faced 29 shots and the team only served 14 penalty minutes versus the Klippers eight minutes in penalties.
The night before, (October 13), Melfort handed Weyburn a 6-1 loss with Brent Teskey stopping 30 shots for the Wings while the team collected only six minutes in the sin-bin the entire game.
However Nipawin wasn't a very gracious host on October 12 as they stomped Weyburn 11-4 with Wings' netminder Nate Ferris stopping 42 shots on his net. This game saw the Wings take 46 minutes in penalties while Nipawin took 54 minutes in penalties.
Weyburn will now host the undefeated Flin Flon Bombers on Friday, October 19 and Estevan on Sunday, October 21 at Crescent Point Place.
