The Weyburn Red Wings take to the ice tonight against the Yorkton Terriers in their fifth match up of the season at Crescent Point Place.
The Wings are 2-2 with the Terriers.
"Yorkton is a tough team. They have eight guys who are 20 that won the league last year," said Coach Bryce Thoma.
Friday night also brings fans the Hospital Foundation Jersey Auction. The Wings will be auctioning off their jerseys with funds being donated to the Weyburn Hospital Foundation. Between periods, fans may take part in a live auction with eight jerseys up for bid. Four will be auctioned in the first intermission, and four in the second, said Red Wings office manager Ryan Gibney.
The remainder of the jerseys will be auctioned through a silent auction in the lobby.
November 26, the Wings soared to a 6-3 win over the visiting Melville Millionaires.
"It was ugly, but we found a way to win," said Thoma. "Despite the win, I thought we could have played better."
Ty Mclean started the scoring for the Wings with an unassisted goal in the first period and then Jon Brumwell scoring off the stick of Colton Laroque and Nick Pouliot.
Second period scoring for the Wings was by Jacob Jeske from Ryan Cooper and Zach Landon.
Jeske scored again in the third period with assists to Shain Scheschuk and Tyler Borstmayer. Brumwell scored the fifth goal for the Wings from Josh Lees and Borstmayer.
Shain Scheschuk sealed the win with assists to Matt Eng and Jeske.
In other Red Wing news, the Wings made two trades November 27.
Forward Kyle Olenuik, 20, was traded to the Humboldt Broncos for 19-year-old defenseman Cody Pettapiece and future considerations.
Ryan Cooper, who is leading scoring in defence was traded to the Dauphin Kings for 19-year-old forward Brendan McKay and future considerations.
"Dauphin is hosting the Western Canada Cup April 25 to May 4, so Ryan will be playing in it," said Gibney.
