The Estevan Minor Hockey Association honoured another of its dedicated volunteers Saturday night.
Lloyd Sehn was named the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award during the intermission of the Estevan Apex Midget AA Bruins game versus the Regina Capitals.
At the game it was noted that Sehn has been a member of the EMHA board for the past six years, holding a number of positions including novice director and equipment manager.
Sehn has also coached for the past 10 seasons in various age groups and has worked hard to develop younger players by organizing power skating, the 3 on 3 hockey league and, just earlier this month, one of the largest novice tournaments Estevan has held in years. Whenever there is available ice in the summer Sehn is also quick to organize players for a shinny session.
Sehn said he was pleased to be honoured for the award adding that his involvement with the EMHA stems from his love of the sport.
"It's nice to acknowledged and I would like to thank everyone who has helped me along the way," he said. "I have a passion for hockey. I have been a season ticket holder for the Bruins for getting close to 20 years. Now, I have kids in minor hockey and it's just a great way to spend your time with family."
