Silver Seals to compete at semi-finals

The Weyburn Silver Seals will have 24 swimmers competing at the semi-final meet, which will be held in Estevan this week. The top swimmers from semi-finals will advance to provincials, which will be held in Watrous on August 5 to 6.

The Weyburn Silver Seals will have 24 swimmers competing at the semi-final meet, which will be held in Estevan this week. The top swimmers from semi-finals will advance to provincials, which will be held in Watrous on August 5 to 6.
The Silver Seals have had a busy summer already, after competing at a number of competitions. The following are first-place finishes at those meets.
While competing in Assiniboia on July 8, Aiden Aasland-Guest took first in the 50 metre butterfly, male ages nine to 10 category. Rumina Edgerton won first in the 25 m freestyle and 50 m backstroke female ages 13 to 14 category. Emerson Jack won first in the 25 m backstroke and 25 m butterfly, male ages 11 to 12 category. Skyler Kreger won first in the 25 m butterfly, female 11 to 12 category. Tamberly Kreger won first in the 25 m backstroke, female ages nine to 10 category.
Dalton Molnar won first in the 50 m breaststroke, 25 m and 50 m freestyle, 50 m backstroke and 100 IM, male 11 to 12 category. Lily Popescu won first in the 25 m and 50 m freestyle, 25 m backstroke and 25 butterfly, female eight and under category. Tre Thompson won first in the 100 IM, male 13 to 14 category.
The Weyburn Silver Seals hosted a swim meet at the Weyburn Leisure Centre on July 15.
Rumina Edgerton won first place in the 200 m backstroke and the 100 m freestyle, female ages 13 to 14 category. Ryder Hignett won first place in the 100 m backstroke, male nine to 10 category. Marley Kradovill won first place in the 50 m butterfly, female 11 to 12 category.
Skyler Krefer won first place in the 25 m butterfly, female 11 to 12 category. Lily Popescu won first place in the 25 m butterfly, female eight and under category.
Tre Thompson won first place in the 200 m freestyle and 100 m backstroke, male 13 to 14 category. Dylan Van Staveren won first place in the 25 m breaststroke and the 25 m freestyle, male seven to eight category.
During a competition in Swift Current on July 22, Dalton Molnar won first in the 100 m backstroke, male 11 to 12 category. Tre Thompson won first in the 200 m freestyle and the 200 m IM, male 13 to 14 category. Zoe Thompson won first in the 200 m backstroke, female ages 15 to 17 category.
During a competition in Gravelbourg on July 23, Rumina Edgerton won first in the 100 m freestyle and the 100 IM, female ages 13 to 14 category. Ryder Hignet won first in the 50 m backstroke, male nine to 10 category. Tamberly Kreger won first in the 25 m backstroke, female ages nine to 10 category. Dalton Molnar won first in the 100 m freestyle, 50 m backstroke and 50 m butterfly, male 11 to 12 category.
The Weyburn Silver Seals are a speed-swimming club, that includes a number of local swimmers who participate in competitions throughout the province. The Silver Seals are associated with Swim Saskatchewan.
Their speed-swimming athletes train at the Weyburn Leisure Centre. The Leisure Centre has hosted semi-final and provincial meets in the past.
