Weyburn Synchro Stars (WSS) competitive club competed in the Sadie Caulder Knight Provincials on April 13 and 14 at the Shaw Center in Saskatoon.
The Weyburn athletes competed very successfully against one of the largest turnouts of competitors in many years, with both provincial stream competitive teams bringing home medals.
Novice clubs from Wynyard, Moosejaw and Prince Albert attended for the first time.
The provincial competitive club will now train to attend the first ever Canadian Prairie Invitational, being held May 10, 11 and 12 at the Lawson Center in Regina. This event will host teams from across Canada, Yukon and Northern USA.
In the Provincial Stream for 10 years and under, in the Figures category, Megan Dammann placed Seventh, Abby Pohl 11th, Emma Kot 13th and Ashley Kot 15th. For the Team Routine category, WSS placed third, winning a bronze medal.
In the Provincial Stream for 11 and 12 years old, in the Figures category, Piper Abel placed Eighth, Alexis Vandermey placed 12th, Savannah Pohl 13th, Morgan Sprecken 15th, Kayla Olfert 16th and Katie Robinson 19th. The Team Routine won Second place and a silver medal.
In the Provincial Stream for 13 to 15 years old, in the Figures category, Jillian Harder placed 11th.
The Solo Routine placed Sixth and was coached by Tracey Rothwell.
In the Recreational Stream, 11 and 12 years old, Figures only, MacKenzie Kot placed Third.
