Michael Hoffman, chairperson of the 2013 WDHF Charity Golf Tournament, recently announced some exciting changes for the Third annual tournament.
"I am pleased to announce that our 2013 tournament will feature Weyburn's own Brendon LaBatte of the Saskatchewan Roughriders," said Hoffman. Brendon will be in attendance at the golf tournament and at the fundraising supper."
"We are very excited that Brendon has agreed to partner with us for this year's tournament and we are looking forward to building on the success of our previous tournaments," added Hoffman.
"I am looking forward to helping to raise funds for the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation," said LaBatte. "A new hospital for Weyburn and surrounding area is very important and I am happy to be able to lend my name to this very worthy cause."
Hoffman also announced that the Weyburn Young Fellows Club will be partnering with the WDHF for this year's tournament and will be preparing the supper for the guests.
"The Young Fellows have been preparing fundraising meals in our city for many years and we are excited to have them as a part of our event this year," said Hoffman.
The date for the tournament will be set once the CFL schedule is released and we are able to coordinate a date with LaBatte, but the WDHF is still hoping for a July date as per tradition.
The WDHF is working on some more exciting changes to the tournament this year and will communicate these changes as they are finalized.
The Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation Inc, incorporated in 2008, is a registered charity focused on raising funds for a new hospital for Weyburn and the surrounding communities. To date through fundraising, donations and commitments from local governments we have raised and identified funds totalling approximately $14 million.
