The Weyburn Beavers scored eight runs in the sixth inning to roll by the Moose Jaw Miller Express 10-3 in the opening game of their best-of-five series on Tuesday evening.
Weyburn designated hitter Drake Pilat hit a home run and drove in three runs, and the Beavers also got doubles from Felix Correa, Keaton Greenwalt and Nolan Machibroda.











To end the night off, Brodie Stairs subs for Dalton Ross and allows Moose Jaw Miller Express to score two runs by Ty Barclay and Geordie McDougall.
Game 2 of the playoffs will go tonight at Tom Laing Park at 7:05 p.m., and Game 3 will be in Moose Jaw on Thursday, Aug. 2, along with Game 4 if required on Friday, Aug. 3. If the series goes to five games, the fifth game will be back in Weyburn on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 7:05 p.m.
