The Weyburn Red Wings have won their last two games and hope to keep that momentum going.
It was a rough start to the game January 15 on home ice against the Notre Dame Hounds. The Wings defeated the Hounds in a shootout 4-3.
Forward Matt Eng banked the winner as the seventh shooter of the night.
"We didn't play as well against Notre Dame, but the guys pulled out a win," said Coach Bryce Thoma.
January 17, the Wings defeated the Estevan Bruins 3-2.
"We played really well and deserved the win. The whole team played hard," said Thoma.
Jon Brumwell started the scoring in the first period with assists to Brendan McKay and Joe Bristow.
Shain Scheschuk, assisted by Michael Eskra scored the second goal in the second period which was answered a few minutes later by Estevan.
The score was tied at 2 leading into the third period.
Ty McLean notched with winner assisted by Bristow.
This weekend marks the parent weekend for the Red Wings with two home games. Tonight the Wings will take on the LaRonge Ice Wolves. The Wings are 1-2 with the Ice Wolves.
Saturday, January 25, the Wings host the Nipawin Hawks.
Both games, the puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
