It didn’t take long for Estevan’s Wyatt Haux to sign with the Saskatoon Rush.

Haux was drafted in the sixth round, 92nd overall, by the Rush in the National Lacrosse League Draft on Sept. 18. The Rush announced on Wednesday that Haux had signed with the team.

“We like good athletes and he’s a very good athlete, and he has a good mind for the game,” said Rush GM Derek Keenan in a news release.

Haux, who plays the transition position, stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 220 pounds. The press release from the Rush says he is willing to get physical at both ends of the floor, and has a solid resume that includes two stints with Team Canada at the World Juniors, a trip to Czech Republic for the European Box Invitational, and a good run with the Saskatchewan Swat junior program. He was scheduled to play junior A in St. Catharines, Ont., this season until the pandemic hit, but he’ll attend the Rush’s camp.
