The COVID-19 virus forced the postponement of a big sporting event that was scheduled to happen in the southeast this weekend.

The Western Blind Curling Championships were hosted in Weyburn from March 11-14 at the Weyburn Curling Rink, and organizers deemed the event to be a huge success.

An athlete from southeast Saskatchewan has been recognized for her sporting accomplishments in 2019. Midale’s Keely Shaw, who now resides in Saskatoon, won the Saskatchewan Sport Female Athlete of the Year Award.
