The annual Estevan Lions Club CNIB Golf Classic was held Thursday at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course. The tournament had a Texas scramble format.

The Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Goldwings have announced the recipients of the 2019 Player Scholarships and both were awarded to Assitant Captains from the 2018-19 Season. Mahteya Dumelie is the recipient of the Esso Cup/Prairie Sky Co-op Scholarship.

As part of the Oil and Gas Show Golf Tournament on June 4th, Summit Earth Services sponsored a Hole-In-One contest. Jason Peterson of the Streamline Golf Team captured $15,000 for sinking a hole-in-one on the 18th hole.

Brett Jones, centre for the Minnesota Vikings of the NFL, came back to his hometown to hold a charitable golf tournament, and held a free football camp for local children.

The Beavers hit the road on Monday to begin a six-game road trip in Alberta. After a 10-hour bus ride, the Beavers took the field in Okotoks to take on the Dawgs.

One of the biggest sporting events of the year for Estevan will be rolling into the city on July 8, when the IMCA Dakota Classic Modified Tour visits the Estevan Motor Speedway.

The Estevan Minor Box Lacrosse Association saluted the efforts of its athletes, volunteers and officials on June 26 during its annual awards night at the Super 8 Motel.

The winners of the RBC PGA Scramble at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Course this year were similar to last year’s winners. The team of Jeff Ward, Shawn Wilhelm, Brad Wilhelm and Mark Spencer won the tournament with a net total of 52.

The Southeast Performance Pump midget AAA Twins won two of four games they played on the road during the Canada Day long weekend, as they earned splits with the Parkland Expos on June 30 and the Muenster Red Sox the following day.
