The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs senior girls basketball team were happy with their win Saturday over the Weyburn Eagles but were even happier to raise money at Victor Elias Memorial Shoot For A Cure and awareness for community members.

With great depth at forward comes great responsibility. The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins used five different players to score against the Flin Flon Bombers Saturday night at Affinity Place in a 5-3 win.

The Carlyle PureChem Cougars put up a battle throughout the season, able to make their way into the final seed of Big Six Playoff action. They came up against the tough, seeded as first place after the regular season, Carnduff Red Devils.

Down 3-1 in the third, the Estevan Power Tech Bear Cats used grit and determination to score three goals and power past the Regina Capitals 4-3 Sunday afternoon at Affinity Place and into the South Saskatchewan Female Hockey League’s midget AA final.

The Estevan Oilfield Technical Society’s (OTS) 59th annual Open Bonspiel will be March 23 and 24. The two-day event takes place at the Power Dodge Curling Centre. There will be cocktails, prizes and a buffet supper held Friday, March 23.

The Estevan Bruins midget A run to provincial playoffs is over. The team lost 4-0 to the Prairie Storm from Balgonie, dropping their two-game total goal series 8-3.

The Estevan Strippers over 50 recreational hockey team had a good showing at the annual Melville Moneymen Hockey Tournament last weekend.
