Cheers:
Cheers to all the volunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels, and a special thank you to Beta Sigma Phi for adding the fruit baskets for Easter.
Cheers to the students of Hillcrest School for the entertaining play last week. It’s great to see they performed something by Lampman’s Maureen Ulrich.
Cheers to the resumption of obstetrician services at St. Joseph’s Hospital. So many people were waiting for this to happen.
Cheers to the Souris Valley Museum for hosting an archaeology camp this week. Hopefully they will have more camps now that their expansion is finished.
Cheers to the Time to Twin committee for not giving up on twinning Highways 39 and 6. These highways need to be safer.
Jeers:
Jeers to enforcing the 60-kilometre per hour speed limit on Highway 47 north to the bypass at 11 a.m. on Good Friday.
Jeers to the two men who jumped in front of a lady waiting in line to pay for an 11-litre jug of water, so they could fill up four 18-litre jugs.
Jeers to the person who broke the head off Mr. Wilson, a carving on a gate on a fence. This was a gift from a friend who just recently passed on.
Jeers to the gas stations who were the first to raise their gasoline prices to $1.059 per litre this week.
Jeers to the pending legalization of marijuana in Canada. It’s particularly troubling to hear that some people don’t think it affects their ability to drive.
