Cheers:
Cheers to leisure services employee Chantel Rubletz for providing maps and locations for the Estevan Cemetery to a visitor to the community. She answered all questions, and was friendly and professional, a true ambassador of the city.
Cheers to businesses that employ people with disabilities. These organizations display great leadership, and understand the benefits of diversity within their business community.
Cheers to all of the organizers of the Roche Percee Trail Ride and Wagon Trek. It was a wonderful way to spend three days, and the scenery was beautiful.
Cheers to the Estevan branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for all that they have done over the years to improve the community.
Cheers to the Frobisher Thresherman’s Reunion Committee for hosting this year’s event. The parade was bigger than it’s been in a while.
Jeers:
Jeers to all the vehicles that hang out in the 7-11 parking lot on Souris Avenue North and the occupants who litter. Be respectful of the business and of Estevan.
Jeers to people who think they have the right to dump their garbage in the private dumpsters of churches, schools and apartments. Go to the landfill with the junk.
Jeers to those who were complaining about the attention for Monday’s eclipse. It was a very rare opportunity and a lot of people wanted to see it. For some, it was something they will never see again.
Jeers to the provincial government for the single health authority concept. All it’s going to do is reduce the level of care for Saskatchewan residents.
Jeers to those who are upset with the construction and the temporary traffic patterns on Highway 39 east of Estevan. It’s a short-term problem that will have long-term benefits.
