Cheers: Cheers to the athletes, parents, volunteers, organizers, sponsors and officials for putting on an outstanding Saskatchewan Summer Games. There was a lot of positive energy at the Games.

Cheers to the athletes, parents, volunteers, organizers, sponsors and officials for putting on an outstanding Saskatchewan Summer Games. There was a lot of positive energy at the Games.

Cheers to the people who organized all the cultural activities in Estevan during the Games. It was nice to showcase all that Estevan has to offer.

Cheers to the paved walkways behind Brooks Road, Ross Court and Wahba Court. They look great and will be well-used and enjoyed.

Cheers to the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club for naming the annual “horse race” after Dave Price. He was such a strong supporter of golf in the community.

Cheers to the people with the Estevan Dog Park committee. The park looks great and it is a great place for dogs to run free.

Jeers:

Jeers to the man who runs his dogs off-leash and to the woman walking her dog on the new Chamney Running Track. The sign clearly says no pets.

Jeers to cyclists who insist on riding slowly down the middle of the street, thus creating problems for traffic headed in both directions. Please remember to ride bikes safely.

Jeers to those who continue to play their stereos too loudly. We get it: you have a great sound system. But we don’t want to hear it from across the street.

Jeers to all of the mosquitoes buzzing around the city. They have a knack for spoiling a beautiful evening outdoors.

Jeers to the number of people who continue to leave their pets, or worse, their children, in their cars during the summer heat. You might be in the store for just a few minutes, but it can cause a lot of issues for vehicle occupants.
